Notes on occupation

The Occupation field will display a drop down list suggesting options based on previous PHS entries in the case report form. The options will be displayed after the first three letters are entered. The user can enter a new occupation which, when saved, will be added to the list. Some classifications will end in the following acronyms: Nec: Not elsewhere classified - A case has provided a specific occupation which has been grouped to a more general classification. Nfd: Not further defined - A case has not provided a specific occupation and has been grouped to a more general classification.

Depending on the radio button selected for the Occupation Location field, ie. Place of work, School, and Pre-school, a different drop down list will be displayed. The options will be displayed after the first three letters are entered.

The “Place of Work” drop down list will be populated by previous entries into the Name field. The user can enter a new place of work which, when saved, will be added to the list .

The “School” drop down list is populated by schools recorded in an EpiSurv database reference table. Please note that if a new ‘School Occupation location’ option needs to be added, the user will need to contact CDRSupport@esr.cri.nz as there is no option to add “NEW” under the ‘School’ radio button.

The “Pre-school” list is populated by pre-schools recorded in an EpiSurv database reference table. Again, if a new ‘Pre-school Occupation location’ option needs to be added, the user will need to contact CDRSupport@esr.cri.nz as there is no option to add “NEW” under the ‘Pre-school’ radio button.
