An eNotification is an electronic laboratory result associated with a notifiable disease incident. The eNOTIFICATIONS tab in EpiSurv lists eNotifications that are not yet attached to a case report form. The user is responsible for matching the eNotifications to the appropriate case report form based on the identifiable information available.

The user can select a laboratory notification from the eNotification List which will display the Notification details in the panel on the right hand side of the screen. Only eNotifications for the user’s PHS Office will appear in the list.

In the Notification details there is an Edit button (pencil icon). This button, once selected, will allow the user to edit the Disease, Stage and NHI fields and to add case management notes in the PHS Comments field.

The Stage may also be edited for active eNotifications, to be updated to any other active Stage or to Not a case. Where the Stage of an eNotification is updated from an active Stage to Not a case, the eNotification will subsequently be excluded from the eNotification List.

The Stage may also be edited for eNotifications with a Stage category of Not a case, to be updated to any of the active Stages. Where the Stage of an eNotification is updated from Not a case to an active Stage, the eNotification will subsequently be included in the eNotification List again.

While the user is editing the Notification details, a padlock icon will be displayed next to the selected result in the eNotification list. This padlock temporarily prevents other users from working on the eNotification that is being edited.
